An Politischem

Ben attends the next mayoral selection

I attended the election of the next Los Gatos Mayor and Vice Mayor. The area was packed. People from several different commissions, groups, and communities were there. I was welcomed and pulled into the Youth commission area as they wanted to socialize with me. I, myself, belong to the community services commission.

Few minutes in, I saw the famous (or infamous) "Citizen Ray". During the open speaking section of the town meeting, he spoke over his time limit. As mayor McNutt tried to rotate someone else in, he continued to congratulate the council and their victory over greed and evil.

Mike Honda was there, and he swore in the new mayor and vice mayor. I shook his hand, and got my picture with the Los Gatos Vice Mayor, Councilman Wasserman, and Congressman Honda. Mr. Honda is definitely a key figure to reference in my budding political career. He has been a congressman several dozen times, and continues to represent California's interests when he can. He exemplifies the political ideal.

One of the Youth Comissioners, Liz, wanted her picture with Councilman Steve Glickman and Congressman Honda. She was very pleased to meet Mr. Honda.

Councilman Wasserman wanted to be seen with the new Vice Mayor and Congressman Honda. Seems that this meeting was definitely NOT the usual political drudgery but something fun.
